Garden Safari: Denham Gardens & Architectural Plants Nursery
Wednesday 22nd April
Meet in car park at 10.30am
Award-winning Grade II-listed Denmans Garden is the former home and garden of influential landscape designer John Brookes MBE. Originally a market garden, it was transformed into an ornamental garden in the 1970s by plantswoman Joyce Robinson, creator of its renowned gravel gardens.
Today, this tranquil space features dry riverbeds, a walled garden, ponds, and a rich collection of unusual plants.
This is WeWeed’s second safari of 2026 for supporting members and sponsors, and will be led by our resident horticulturist John Brannan.
Architecural Plants – Garden Nursery, Pulbourough, West Sussex
Meet in car park at 2.30pm
Architectural Plants is a specialist horticultural nursery in Pulborough, West Sussex, set within 32 acres of open fields and surrounded by farmland overlooking the South Downs.
Led by owner Guy Watts, our expert team specialises in plants that are both shapely and exotic. Our collection includes Japanese Niwaki and European topiary, hardy palms, bananas, and other unusual tropical specimens. We are also passionate advocates of screening plants and offer an ever-expanding range of rare and evergreen trees, both large and small.
Many of our plants are home-grown, with additional carefully sourced specimens from across the UK. If you’re drawn to the sculptural and the rare, and have only just discovered us, you may soon find yourself sharing the same irresistible passion that has captivated our long-standing friends and customers.
